Job description:

To enable the creation of the new Commission for Children and Young People (CCYP) through the amalgamation of the existing Commission and the Office of the Independent Regulator, by effectively leading the Human Resources Stream of the amalgamation project (the CCYP Project). In leading the Human Resources stream, the role will deliver employment advisory, industrial relations and human resources policy functions for the CCYP Project.

Period of Appointment

Fixed Term - 2 years

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. 

Duties

  • Lead the activities of the Human Resources Stream of the CCYP Project.
  • Develop and implement policy, procedures and systems that support the creation of the new Commission for Children and Young People, including (but not limited to):
    • liaising with the Department of Premier and Cabinet to progress the appointment of key Commission appointments
    • executing legislative and operational processes to procedurally relocate staff to the new Agency in accordance with the relevant provisions of the State Service Act 2000.
    • assisting the newly appointed Commissioner for Children and Young People to define and implement the organisational structure for the new entity
  • Assist in the execution of change and communication plans to implement this Project Stream.
  • Build and maintain positive consultative relationships with stakeholders, including other State Service Agencies, and information networks to facilitate communication and ensure the delivery of agreed project outcomes
  • Provide high level advice to senior managers on complex people and workplace relations matters as a result of the amalgamation of the Office of the Independent Regulator and Commissioner for Children and Young People
  • Manage and monitor project activity, timing and progress. Identify, manage and mitigate project issues, risks and strategies. Provide project status reports and other documentation as required.
