Job description:

Prepare and process financial and accounting transactions for Tasmania’s iconic Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, a destination that attracts over half a million visitors annually.

About the role

As Finance Officer at the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (RTBG), you will contribute to the provision of quality financial and corporate services, information, and advice to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Prepare, verify, and process financial and accounting transactions in accordance with policies, procedures, and guidelines, and legislative and administrative requirements.
  • Undertake accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate creditor and debtor ledger records within the Financial Management Information System.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Period of appointment

2 years.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.

The following check is to be conducted:

  • Conviction check for Crimes involving Dishonesty.

Desirable requirements

  • Tertiary degree in business and or a Certificate IV in Business.
  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
