About the role

Play a vital role in preserving and promoting Tasmania’s rich Aboriginal cultural heritage. As an Archaeologist, you will work alongside community, government and land managers to ensure heritage is recognised, respected and protected.

In this meaningful position you will:

• Provide expert advice under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1975.
• Manage heritage data and systems with integrity and accuracy.
• Lead and support fieldwork and projects that advance cultural heritage outcomes.

This permanent position is open to both Band 1 (early career) and Band 2 (experienced) archaeologists. The complexity and variety of work will align with your experience and development needs. The role can be based in either Hobart or Launceston.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Essential requirements

• An honours or post-graduate degree in Archaeology or Cultural Heritage Management.

Desirable requirements

• A current motor vehicle driver's licence.
