Job description:

The Senior Project Manager – Finance is responsible for leading the delivery of Finance and Corporation business improvement initiatives, focused on enhancing maturity in financial governance, systems, reporting and business processes across the organisation. This role will partner and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities and support the planning, delivery and implementation against the approved strategic roadmap. The role will be accountable for ensuring initiates deliver measurable benefits and will lead the change management process to ensure improvements are embedded into the ways of working. This role will play a critical role in ensuring the finance function, governance frameworks and supporting business processes are fit for purpose and aligned to the corporation’s growth and future needs.

Hours per fortnight

Full-time, 73.50 hours per fortnight. 

Duties:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of finance projects and Business Improvement Initiatives, including:
  • Providing advice, project management, business analysis and implementation support.
  • Lead the research, analyses and development of policies and processes and business improvement activities, including leading development of project management and delivery plans and supporting business case assessment, development and approvals
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to the organisation executive, managers, staff and other relevant stakeholders on initiatives to support decision making and approvals
  • Develop change management plans and implement and manage change projects in line with change management principles.
  • Establish robust reporting framework including monitoring and reporting to stakeholders on progress against project scope, timelines, budget and management of identified risks.
  • Ensure project outcomes align with organisational objectives and benefit expectations.
  • Support the Finance and Executive teams across the Corporation as required

Essential Requirements

Evidence of the following must be provided prior to appointment to this role:

CPA, CA or equivalent professional accounting or finance qualification

The person must continue to satisfy the above essential requirements/qualifications throughout their employment in this role.

Desirable Requirements

Experience in a public sector or complex governance environment.

Formal Project Management certification

Experience in Finance Systems implementation
