Job description:

As an applicant you must: 

  • complete the online application form to provide personal details, select areas of expertise, placement/location preferences; 

  • submit a two-page response to the four selection criteria that details your Teaching skills, knowledge and experience; 

  • upload a resume that contains personal details, relevant study and work history; and 

  • list two teaching related referees who can comment on your suitability for the role of a Teacher.  

  • Be either an Australian citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand passport or hold a current visa that allows you to work within Australia and be able to meet the following essential requirements prior to commencement date: 

  • Qualifications as established by the Tasmanian Industrial Commission in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award 2005. 

  • Current provisional, full or specialist VET registration granted by the Teachers Registration Board (Tasmania) in accordance with the provisions of the Teachers Registration Act 2000.  

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employee/Volunteer). 

Commencement Date:  Term 4, 2024 (14 October 2024) or Term 1, 2025. Schools commence on Monday 3 February and colleges on Tuesday 28 January 2025. 

Salary range: $80,416 to $114,882 per annum (pro rata) + 11% superannuation (plus any allowances and payments payable if at an isolated location) 

Hours: Up to 70 hours per fortnight 

Leave: 11.4 weeks per year
