Job description:

Provide support to schools and colleges with effective strategies for improving engagement and attendance, and required flexible learning options to enable access, participation and attainment for all learners, with a specific focus on working with school leaders and key strategic partners to consult and communicate with regards to improved outcomes and implementation of processes, supporting schools in building capacity to maximise student engagement and improved attendance.

This is a Department built entirely for children and young people and their communities.  Our ultimate goal is to work together to ensure that every child and young person in Tasmania is known, safe, well and learning.

Duties

Provide support to schools and colleges with effective strategies for improving engagement and attendance, and required flexible learning options to enable access, participation and attainment for all learners, with a specific focus on working with school leaders and key strategic partners to consult and communicate with regards to improved outcomes and implementation of processes, supporting schools in building capacity to maximise student engagement and improved attendance.

Period of Appointment

1 January 2025 to 31 December 2026

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

Hours per fortnight

73.5 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
  • A registered teacher with full registration within the meaning of the Teachers Registration Act 2000.
  • Qualifications as established by the Tasmanian Industrial Commission in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award.

Desirable Requirements

  • A current driver's licence.
