Job description:

The Professional Practice Lead will build the capacity of senior school social workers and their teams, overseeing the model and allocation of social work services within DECYP, embedding governance structures and providing associated recommendations to the Statewide Manager of Professional Support Staff.

This is a Department built entirely for children and young people and their communities.  Our ultimate goal is to work together to ensure that every child and young person in Tasmania is known, safe, well and learning.

Duties

The Professional Practice Lead will build the capacity of senior school social workers and their teams, overseeing the model and allocation of social work services within DECYP, embedding governance structures and providing associated recommendations to the Statewide Manager of Professional Support Staff.

Period of Appointment

Ongoing - Start date of 28 April 2025

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

Hours per fortnight

76 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)

Desirable Requirements

  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications
  • A current driver's licence
