Job description:

To engage Aboriginal families and children from birth to four years (including older children within the family) accessing Child and Family Learning Centres (CFLCs) to deliver support and activities that promote family safety and address the impacts on children of family violence. Provide culturally specific advice relating to family engagement and the development of support strategies that improve the safety of Aboriginal families (including pregnant women) in the CFLC environment.

This is a Department built entirely for children and young people and their communities.  Our ultimate goal is to work together to ensure that every child and young person in Tasmania is known, safe, well and learning.

Period of Appointment

ASAP until 30 June 2027

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

Hours per fortnight

36.75 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
  • The Head of the State Service has determined that this position is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identified position and that it can only be filled by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with Employment Direction No. 10 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Tagged and Identified Positions.

  • A Current Drivers Licence.
