St Marys District School (SMDS) is a rural school, enrolling students from a large catchment area centred around St Marys, including the Fingal Valley and East Coast. It is a family friendly school that caters for students from Birth through to Grade 12. The school encourages students to set high goals for themselves and to strive for excellence. About the Role
To assist the Principal in the general educational leadership, management and administration of a school or college.
We are offering:
- Ongoing - start date of 2 February 2026
- 70 hours per fortnight
- Eleven (11) weeks recreation leave + accrued sick/carers leave

We are looking for:
Essential
- A registered teacher with full registration within the meaning of the Teachers Registration Act 2000.
- Qualifications as established by the Tasmanian Industrial Commission in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award, 2005.
- Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment
Desirable
- Four years or more training as defined in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award 2005
