Job description:

The Statewide Coordinator – Business Operations provides strategic leadership and expert advice to optimise business processes and administrative services across Child Safety and Youth Justice. The role ensures consistency, efficiency and compliance in statewide operations, including finance, procurement, asset management and human resources. This position leads the development and implementation of business improvement initiatives, policies and systems that enhance organisational performance. It drives innovation and fosters collaboration across regions and service areas to deliver sustainable improvements aligned with departmental goals and values.

The Team

Business Operations (BOPS) provides essential support to Child Safety and Youth Justice Operations. Our teams ensure that frontline staff can focus on their work with children, young people, and families, while we manage the business functions that keep the service running smoothly.
 
The statewide Business Coordination and Innovation team works alongside regional BOPS teams to bring consistency and improvement to these services. Together, we identify opportunities to streamline processes, standardise tools, and strengthen the support available to staff across all regions.

Essential

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment
  • The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
1 Conviction checks in the following areas:
 
a) crimes of violence
b) sex related offences
c) serious drug offences
d) crimes involving dishonesty
e) serious traffic offences
 
2 Identification check
3 Disciplinary actions in previous employment check

Desirable

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience working in similar roles.
