The successful candidate will conduct and analyze numerical sensitivity modeling experiments utilizing the Navy’s coupled tropical cyclone modeling system and other coupled modeling systems to verify against field observations to identify momentum exchange processes that influence tropical cyclone intensity change. The postdoc will be based at the Northern Gulf Institute at Mississippi State’s campus and have access to MSU High Performance Computing Collaboratory supercomputing servers to conduct experiments. Funding is available for 18 months with opportunity for extension. Funds for conference travel are included. Anticipated start date of August 2024 with some flexibility. |
