Position Function:

Serve as a leader of the D.A.W.G player development program. Responsible for financial aid, housing, conduct and serves as liaison to Student-Athlete Experience.

Salary Grade:  16

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Serve as member of the D.A.W.G. program staff, advancing the head coach’s priorities for player development.
2. Develop and maintain mentor relationships with prospective, current, and former players.
3. Assist new players prior to their arrival on campus by helping with setting up their housing and other needs.
4. Assist coaches with at-risk players.
5. Serves as liaison to student-athlete experience and the dean of students’ office.
6. Serve as liaison to sports medicine staff as it relates to healthcare related items.
7. Serves as liaison with law enforcement and assist players with all legal issues.
8. Serves as Financial Aid liaison (monitors holds and fines).
9. Communicate with the sport administrator/Deputy AD/General Manager for SA Brand Services and Business Development regarding player-related conduct/legal issues.
10. Support the football program with academic issues and concerns.
11. Support the Director of Career & Professional Development and Director of Community Engagement & Former Player Relations as it relates to D.A.W.G program programming and events.
12. Performs related duties assigned.

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Experience (yrs.): Two (2) within NCAA D-1 institution

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations.
2. Ability to travel extensively.
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• No unusual physical requirements. Requires occasional or light lifting; nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Frequent externally imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one's control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis.
• Job occasionally requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
• Job occasionally requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
• Ability to travel extensively.
