Responsible for identifying and facilitating, third-party name, image, and likeness (NIL) and business development opportunities for the benefit of Mississippi State University student-athletes. Ensures timely deliverables and collaborates with the Bulldog Club staff on appropriate and necessary targets and campaigns. This position reports to the Deputy Athletic Director, Athletics Advancement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintains positive relationships with Mississippi State Athletics coaches, staff, external engagement, and other units of the University while fostering collaborative work amongst all parties.
2. Serve as a visible, positive ambassador for Mississippi State Athletics in all public-facing responsibilities, creating successful partnerships with external stakeholders (local, regional, state, campus, and industry-specific).
3. Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward local, regional, and national third parties on leads for NIL and business development opportunities
4. Develop and maintain an active portfolio of NIL and business development prospects and meet targeted goals.
5. Develop and maintain a clear understanding of Mississippi State’s talent management priorities and plan.
6. Collaborate with Bulldog Sports Properties, Bulldog Athlete Services, Talent Management Services, and External Engagement on potential NIL and business development opportunities.
7. Ensure timely deliverables and activations of student-athletes of necessary opportunities.
8. Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of all Mississippi State licensing and intellectual property rights.
9. Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the House v. NCAA settlement terms.
10. Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of NIL legislation at the Federal, State, NCAA and Conference levels.
11. Perform related duties as assigned by the Deputy AD/Athletics Advancement

Minimum Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, sport management, or related field
- Experience: 3 years in business, sales, fundraising, marketing, or related field

• Knowledge of applicable team or individual sports and playing rules.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Frequent externally imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one's control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis.
• Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc. with one to the point of being objectionable. Injuries may require professional treatment.
• Job frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping/kneeling/ crouching/ crawling, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
