General Summary of Position:

The Financial Aid Office is seeking a part-time, non-benefitted, non-union Scholarship Program Assistant to provide administrative and program support.   The Scholarship Program Assistant works for the Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid assisting with the administration of the university merit scholarship programs, various endowed scholarship programs and departmental scholarships within the Financial Aid Office.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Create, send and respond to correspondence relating to scholarships in accordance with program and university guidelines.
  • Assist with annual review students’ academic record and determine eligibility for renewal or discontinuance of scholarship in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Award university merit, endowed and departmental scholarships into the student administration system (SIS).
  • Manage President Office Scholarship application process.
  • Assist other Financial Aid staff during peak processing time.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Minimum of HS diploma, GED equivalent
  • Ability to work on campus at least 2 days per week
  • Able to work 15-18 hours per week year around
  • Proven experience and proficiency in time management, and multi-tasking
  • Experience with Microsoft Office: specifically, Excel, Word, and Outlook or other email services
  • Proven experience working effectively with diverse groups and functioning effectively as a member of a diverse team in a high volume department
  • Must enjoy working with the public and possess good oral and written communication skills
  • Must maintain highest level of confidentiality and good judgment in handling sensitive or difficult situations

Preferences:

  • Ability to work in office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, other days flexible
