General Summary of Position:

The Francis College of Engineering (FCOE) seeks a part-time Business Assistant to support the operational needs of the College and the Dean's Office. Reporting to the Director of Operations and Finance, this position coordinates business, financial, human resources, procurement, payroll, vendor, contract, records, and administrative activities to ensure accurate, timely, and policy-compliant college operations.

The position will coordinate purchase orders, accounts payable transactions, vendor records, university contracts, compensation and payroll documentation, student employment processes, correspondence, records management, events, and special projects. The role serves as a customer-service-oriented resource for students, faculty, staff, central university offices, and external constituents, helping maintain an efficient, professional, and welcoming Dean's Office environment.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent (with college degree preferred)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional administrative experience in business operations, finance, human resources, higher education administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and administrative guidelines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external constituents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, and the ability to learn and utilize enterprise business systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.

Additional Considerations: 

  • This is a part-time position supporting the operational needs of the Francis College of Engineering during the 2026 - 2027 academic year (September 2026 to May 2027).
  • The position is 18 hours per week with the opportunity for flexible scheduling.

This is a part-time, temporary, non-unit, non-benefited position.   This position support the operational needs of the Francis College of Engineering during the 2026 - 2027 academic year (September 2026 to May 2027). The position is 18 hours per week with the opportunity for flexible scheduling.
