JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Vice President, Strategic Operations has overall leadership responsibility for the operational efficiency of the Universal Creative organization. This position will serve as a key member of the Universal Creative senior leadership team (SLT). It will directly manage key departments including Strategy, Workplace Transformation/Facilities, Records, and Software Development; indirectly manage Information Technology and Communications and will partner with key stakeholders in Engineering & Safety, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, The Studio and Project Management Office (PMO). This position will drive process innovation, execute strategic initiatives, implement new technologies, and enable productive workplace design and experiences. The SVP, Strategic Operations reports directly to the President, UC. This position is based out of the Orlando headquarters.

This role holder is the strategic partner to the President, UC and supports a global, diverse and highly skilled team of creatives. Universal Creative is a highly dynamic team due to the nature of the project work and is evolving rapidly to support the growth of UDX via new park locations, product typologies and technologies.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic operational leadership to drive Universal Creative business initiatives including operational efficiency, cost reduction tactics, strategic initiatives, technology implementation, and facility management.
  • Collaborate with UC President and SLT to develop and execute UC’s short term and long term strategic planning process while ensuring alignment with company goals. 
  • Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. Align delegation of authority consistent with UDX and parent company requirements and aligned appropriately with scope, risk and impact of decision, process or workflow.
  • Develop, facilitate and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across Universal Creative assessing operational performance and implementing corrective actions as needed. 
  • Collaborate with SLT and department heads to develop operational enhancement initiatives. 
  • Execute strategic improvements within the organization, including the adoption of new processes, technologies, and workflows. Champion change leadership behaviors to foster the adoption of sustainable changes in the organization.
  • Foster a culture of effective communication and collaboration across all departments. 
  • Ensure effective internal and external communication to keep stakeholders informed, engaged, and aligned with organizational strategies.
  • Guide the workplace experience including daily operations, maintenance and space planning in current and new markets, that fosters collaboration, reflects our brand pillars, and ensures the safety of our Team Members.
  • Implement best practices in facility management, including space and asset management, including energy efficiency and sustainability as well as health and security initiatives. 
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to support workplace strategy, expansion and renovation projects. Partner with local facilities teams to integrate UC workplace guidelines that are mindful of local operational, safety and regulatory environments.
  • Ensure and facilitate the complete real-time secure collection of project deliverables. Develop and oversee the implementation of disciplined document retention guidelines.
  • Guide the evaluation, adoption and integration of new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring seamless implementation of new technology solutions.
  • Coordinate with UDX & NBCU software/hardware and Cybersecurity teams to ensure global compliance and best use of enterprise-wide technology. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, in order to understand the competitive landscapes and to enhance the organization’s competitive position. 
  • Contribute to and oversee operational investment strategies and external partnerships, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Represent the company at industry events and build strong relationships with key stakeholders. 
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Strong strategic planning and operational skills with a proven track record of driving organizational efficiency. 
  • Experience in implementing and leveraging new technologies for operational improvement. 
  • Prior experience in effectively managing global, multi-site facilities.
  • Expertise in guiding internal and external communication teams and strategies. 
  • Proficiency in project and process management skills with a demonstrated track record of delivering results. Ability to handle multiple priorities, lead change and drive results. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to earn trust and credibility. Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with a wide range of stakeholders, both individually and in groups. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and creative environment. 

EDUCATION

Master of Business Administration (MBA) strongly preferred; or equivalent, related experience.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 15 years of experience in operations and/or administrative management, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role. Global experience preferred.
