JOB SUMMARY:

Able to style, clean and maintain wigs and related hair costume products for all venues and marquee events throughout UO as well as special projects as directed by Wig Master and Management team. Cutting, cleaning, styling of wigs, knowledge of all materials and supplies used in the maintenance of theatrical wigs. Applying prosthetic hair pieces such as eyebrows, beards and mustaches as well applying hair to mask and prosthetic foam pieces. Able to work with adhesive applied hair application, removals, cleaning and restyling of hair appliances. Be able to tie, punch for all types of wigs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide the application, removal and care of all forms of wigs, prosthetic hair pieces, hair costume products utilized in the Entertainment Department and throughout Universal Orlando, including cleaning, cutting, plugging, styling, fitting/measuring and maintenance of types of hair, wigs, and Prosthetic hair pieces.
• Maintain equipment, supplies and cleanliness of workstation and area.
• Monitor inventory for wear and tear and ask for replacements as needed.
• Work closely with the Make -Up and Prosthetics management team to maintain appropriate supply inventory and participate in research and purchasing of the procurement of wigs and wig cleaning/styling products as needed.
• Assist with application of design elements for wigs for new characters or shows/projects/events, incorporating the new product into current inventory and maintenance processes.
• Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• High school degree or GED required.
• Certificate in hair style/cosmetology preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• 3+ years experience with wig styling, cleaning maintenance.
• theatrical wig experience preferred.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Experience in wig styling, cutting, blocking, maintenance.
• Knowledge of related products (wigs, cleaning, color products).
• Independent, self-starter.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
