Overview:
RMU Athletics is looking for an outgoing and qualified candidate who will be responsible for assisting with the strategic development and execution of donor relations for athletic fundraising, including RMU’s 1921 Club, Varsity Club, gifts tied to ticketing, athletic scholarships, etc. The 1921 Club is the backbone of RMU’s financial commitment to support the educational and athletic excellence of each student-athlete who competes for the Colonials. The generous gifts donors provide enable RMU to meet the escalating costs of intercollegiate athletics while still providing the best possible environment for our teams to compete and succeed at the highest levels. He/she will work closely with the athletics development staff to plan and execute donor solicitations, donor fulfillment, donor appreciation initiatives, appropriate thank you outreach, work in donor seating & club hospitality spaces on game days, and assist with gift tracking and progress toward achieving related development goals. Those serving in a development role with RMU Athletics will receive a comprehensive overview of collegiate sports fundraising including event planning, direct donor solicitations, creative communications, strategic outreach, customer service, and more.
Responsibilities:
-Develop ability to understand donor research process in identifying next prospects -Gain understanding of the donor cultivation and solicitation cycle -Gain valuable training in CRM software (Raiser’s Edge), which is used to track donations and outreach -Advance knowledge of donor interaction (e.g. game day contacts) and gift agreement process -Ability to coordinate and facilitate donor meetings (e.g. meeting setup, discussion, benefits/purpose, etc.) -Develop marketing and event materials for solicitations -Conduct research to be implemented into future development plans -Provide customer service, manage interactive donor areas, organize event communications, and set-up/break down events. -Attendance on some game days and at designated key events, in addition to office hours as necessary. -Other assignments designated by development staff
