Overview:
Taymar Sales specializes in ticket sales and sponsorship services for colleges and sports teams.  Taymar Sales U. is seeking top talent from RMU's Sport Management program, to experience a hands on internship opportunity in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with quick learning potential. Candidates should possess a desire to learn a growing industry with a company that is on the ground floor of changing how college athletics drives revenue and increases fan attendance. Taymar Sales U is committed to developing the next professionals in the college sports industry.
Responsibilities:
Position Overview: This position at Robert Morris University will offer the opportunity to learn and expand knowledge of the fundamentals learned in the classroom and apply them in the real world. The successful applicant will play an integral role in the RMU ticket sales department and corporate sponsorship process (prospecting, fulfillment, activatin) and will be involved in all aspects of the day to day operations of the department. Also, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply with preferential status to full time roles with Taymar Sales U. upon graduation based on performance and position availability. Responsibilities: - Sell a full menu of ticket products for the Robert Morris Football, Basketball, Hockey and other ticketed athletic events, including season tickets, flex ticket packages, group tickets, premium tickets, and hospitality packages. - Utilize online research skills to prospect new sales leads ni the local community, including alumni, youth sports leagues and businesses. - Contact businesses in the Pittsburgh area via phone call, appointment and event-based selling. - Build relationships and expand business with current ticket holders and cold call new referrals to drive revenue. - Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required. All Robert Morris home games will be worked in various capacities: prospecting appointments, sales tables, box office customer service and special events. -Coordinate group experiences for participating groups on game days. - Work with Director of Sales to develop new ticket packages, group experiences and incentives. - Deliver superior customer service to all current and future fans -- approaching every interaction as an opportunity to create a lifetime fan. - Achieve and exceed sales goals established by management team. -Conduct industry research and identify potential sponsorship targets -Develop customized sales materials and proposals used in sponsorship process -Assist with sponsorship activations -Benchmark RMU sponsorship offerings with other NCAA schools and identify opportunities to add new sponsorship assets. -Track inventory of sponsorship assets and work with vendors to procure signage. -Attend on-campus, virtual and off-site partner meetings with Director of Sales to build relationships. - Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Sales.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Working toward a degree in the RMU Sport Management Department -Desire to work in revenue generating business development position -Comfort with business development activities and ability to build relationships quickly -Excellent writing and communication skills -Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint required. Additional knowledge of Photoshop and/or InDesign preferred -Strong work ethic -Candidates much have local housing during entire internship
