Overview:
The Career and Professional Development Center is seeking a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented student to join our team as a Career Center Student Ambassador. This role is perfect for someone with a strong interest in marketing (both digital and print) who enjoys managing social media platforms and creating engaging content with an eagerness to expand their overall marketing knowledge. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to connect with the student body and promote our career readiness initiatives in fresh and relatable ways. In this position, you’ll play a key role in our outreach efforts, using social media, marketing, communication, and leadership skills to raise awareness of the CPDC among current and prospective students. You’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on campus by developing and sharing engaging content, helping keep our communications timely, relatable, and student-centered. Responsibilities:
Social Media: Manage our social media platforms (including Instagram and LinkedIn) and create engaging videos and visual content to promote events, workshops, career opportunities, career-readiness resources, and more! You’ll play a key role in mapping out and scheduling content to maximize student engagement and raise awareness of our center’s offerings. Additionally, you’ll support and help shape our marketing strategies, bringing fresh ideas to keep our center's brand vibrant, relevant, and appealing to students. Marketing: Design digital marketing materials for emails, newsletters, and website content, as well as print designs for flyers, programs, and other items needed for our center’s events and workshops Content Management: Review and curate career readiness resources, such as articles and videos, for our website. Offer insights on existing content and contribute to the creation of new content tailored to our student audience. Event Support: Prepare for and assist with Career Center events, such as Career & Internship Fairs, workshops, and other scheduled activities. Duties include setup, event logistics, and direct support during event hours. Career Readiness Initiatives: Actively support the center’s goals by engaging with our career readiness resources, suggesting new ideas, and promoting student success initiatives. There will be additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.). Keen understanding of the student audience to promote engagement. Experience with Canva (or similar design tools) to create polished, eye-catching graphics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Interest in career development and student success. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Currently enrolled student at RMU (first-year, sophomore, junior, or senior).
Academic Years Preferred: Freshman Year or Greater
