Overview:
This is a highly responsible position in the office of admissions. Students selected for these positions are among the most involved student leaders at the University. Candidates should be strong communicators, friendly, outgoing, responsible, organized and have a genuine pride in RMU.
Responsibilities:
Colonial Ambassadors work 8-10 hours a week including some hours on evenings and selected Saturdays and is a full academic year position. Job responsibilities vary but general duties include: - Provide campus tours to prospective students and their families during scheduled weekday and Saturday shifts - Attend various on-campus recruiting events throughout the year (such as open house, accepted student day, and registration days) to participate in student panel discussions, give tours, mingle with prospective students and their families - Assist with various campus events and activities as needed, such as new student move-in days, alumni events, and athletic functions - Provide a welcoming atmosphere in the admissions lobby by mingling with visiting families while they wait for their tours and appointments - Escort families around campus to meet with faculty or sit in on classes - Assist with answering phones, filing, and general office work as needed - Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a student in good academic standing and be an upperclassman at RMU - Must possess positive attitude and have a desire to promote RMU to prospective students and their families. - Must uphold and adhere to RMU’s Student Code of Conduct - Must not have any current pending judicial matters against you - Involvement in campus clubs, sports, organizations or activities - Verbal and interpersonal communication skills - Ability to work selected evenings and weekends is required - Ability to conduct a full walking tour of the RMU campus - Strong commitment to promoting RMU in best light at all times
