The Biomedical Engineering Department (BME, www.bme.udel.edu) at the University of Delaware (UD) invites applications for tenure-track assistant professor in basic and preclinical Musculoskeletal Research that includes, but is not limited to, understanding the physical and biological mechanisms of musculoskeletal structure and function, applied research in musculoskeletal disorders, and strategies for therapeutic interventions. Research can span a range of length scales from organisms to molecules. Successful applicants will be part of the Delaware Center for Musculoskeletal Research (DCMR), an NIH-funded Center for Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE). The DCMR recently received NIH Phase II funding to support multiple new faculty across collaborating departments with opportunities for joint appointments. The DCMR provides research infrastructure and supports faculty success with mentoring and funding opportunities. UD BME is ABET accredited with world class research programs in musculoskeletal biomechanics, disease modeling, drug delivery, nanomedicine, neuro-engineering, and cell and tissue engineering.
