Job/Department Summary:

The Scholarship Coordinator administers the scholarship programs under general direction from the Director of Financial Aid & Scholarship (FA). Responsibilities include: develop, initiate, and refine scholarship programs and activities; communicate, collaborate, and develop positive relationship with University Advancement, the University Foundation, Student Financial Services, Enrollment Management, the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office, Athletic Programs, Academic Departments, and external scholarship entities; coordinate and oversee the development of policies and procedures; plan, develop, coordinate, and collaborate with on- and off-campus partners to develop effective approaches to leveraging scholarship funds for strategic enrollment management; train and lead the work of staff and students assigned to Scholarships; ensure compliance with existing rules and regulations, and efficiency of programs and functions of the scholarship program; collect data and share reports; serve as University Scholarship Committee Chair; monitor and market scholarships and related information and communication; work with students, student groups and organizations to understand scholarships, applications, and processes, and to ensure students are prepared and able to take advantage of internal and external scholarship opportunities.

Required Education and Experience:

EDUCATION:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
AND
EXPERIENCE:
Three years of full-time professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth.

A Master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
Additional specialized experience which demonstrates the applicant has successfully applied the knowledge and abilities of a Student Services professional may also be substituted for required education on a year-for year basis.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills: 

  • Bilingual
  • Experience or knowledge of the regulations and requirements that govern the administration of a university scholarship program including applicable state and federal law, NCAA Division II Grant-in-Aid policies, and other scholarship policies.  
  • Work experience in an academic setting, ideally public higher education.
  • Experience with scholarship platform.
  • Experience with Student Administration Software system such as PeopleSoft.
  • Knowledge of financial aid regulations, compliance, processes, and procedures.
  • Master’s Degree.
  • Experience working with donor relations
  • Experience strategically supporting organizational growth and/or change.
  • Experience creating and implementing long- and short-term operational goals.
  • Experience in coordinating, training, and leading the work of others.

Time Base: Full-time- 1.0

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 7:00-5:30. 

CSU Classification Salary Range:  $63,312 - $90,204 per year.
