Job/Department Summary:
Under the general administrative and medical direction of the Lead Physician and Executive Director, and in accordance with established standardized procedures and protocols, the Physician provides comprehensive primary care to students of California State University, Chico. The Physician is a licensed health care practitioner who delivers a broad range of clinical services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, and health education. The incumbent conducts physical examinations; manages acute and chronic illnesses; orders and interprets diagnostic tests; performs minor procedures; and counsels patients on preventive health, family planning, and mental health concerns.
Physicians within the WellCat Health Center (WCHC) work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that supports the academic success and well-being of the student community.
Required Education and Experience:
Graduation from a medical school and completion of a residency training program in a primary care field such as family medicine, general internal medicine, gynecology, general pediatrics, emergency medicine, preventive medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or equivalent.
Licenses and Certifications Requirements:
• Valid and current license to practice medicine in California.
• Current ABMS or AOA board certification appropriate to the assigned duties.
• DEA registration and certificate.
• CPR/AED certification.
Preferences:
Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
- Experience in a Student or University Health Setting:
Preference may be given to candidates with prior experience in a university or student health center or with college-aged populations.
- Preventive & Health Promotion Focus:
Preference may be given to candidates with a demonstrated commitment to preventive medicine and health education.
- Commitment to Continuous Learning:
Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate engagement in continuing education, clinical quality improvement, or peer review processes.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $81.21 - $137.92 per hour.
