Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm (at least 15 hours per week, maximum 20 hours per week); Flexible schedule

Job Summary

The Student Assistant will assist the Office of the Vice President within the division of Human Resources, Diversity & Inclusion by providing graphic design support to the Operations team under the supervision of the Communication and Event Specialist.

Students will assist with creating, planning and posting graphic for social media posts across various platforms including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for HRDI social media accounts.

Additionally, they will assist with content research and interviews for story profiles. Assist in preparing marketing reports by collecting social media activity and generating insights and reports.

Assist with creating graphics, promotional and communication materials for email, social, web and digital signage using Canva. Assist with development of publications such as newsletters, brochures, posters, fliers, and presentations. All drafts will be reviewed by lead/supervisor.

Helping with department events, set-up, and day-of production as needed. Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Individuals in this position need to be self-motivated and able to manage time effectively across multiple jobs in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Social Media – Assist with creating, planning and posting graphics for social media posts across various platforms including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for HRDI social media accounts. Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
  • Understanding of social media platforms including, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube.
  • Strong communication skills, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including self-management of work schedule – the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of web content management systems
  • Knowledge of email marketing applications (Mailchimp) and segmentation of audiences, a plus
  • Understanding of web content editing, basic HTML, and CSS, a plus
  • Photography, videography, and editing skills, a plus
  • Progress towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field.

Background Check

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus.
