Job Summary

Under direct supervision, the Graphic Design Student Assistant will assist with the conceptualization, design, and creation of Career Center marketing materials, including illustrations, graphical and typographical design elements for posters, social media posts, postcards, signs, various print and digital materials using the Adobe Creative Cloud. Format various text documents for print, including lists, newsletters, newspapers, and programs. Assist with developing timelines for projects and work within deadlines to ensure their completion. Must be highly organized, initiate work and be a self-starter. The student assistant will also assist with uploading and posting on social media. Will gain job related experience in Graphic Design.
This position may also include assistance to the front desk as needed. Previous clerical or administrative support experience, including front desk or customer service experience is preferred, but not required. This position requires fundamental written and oral communication skills, including a sound foundation in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; an ability to understand standard office procedures, discretion, and initiative. In this position you will be involved in front line contact with students and a variety of campus and community individuals requiring active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills, as well as provide excellent customer service.

Minimum Qualifications Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
Required Qualifications
  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
Out-of-state Employment Policy In accordance with the California State University (CSU) Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is a state entity whose business operations reside within the State of California and requires hiring employees to perform CSU related work within the State of California.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
