Job Overview

The Department of Literature and Writing is accepting applications for Unit 11 TA positions for Fall 2026.

The Teaching Associate classification provides currently enrolled or admitted CSU graduate students with parttime employment offering practical teaching experience in fields related to their advanced study. They teach university courses and may also assist faculty or teaching staff with various professional and technical activities. Work assignments are closely associated with their program of study or the academic department in which they are enrolled.

General Requirements of the Position:

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work
  • Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff and other students
  • Ability to accept responsibility

General Minimum Qualifications of the Position:

  • Admission or registration as a CSUSM student

Anticipated Pay Rate

  • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: 3,245   CSU Classification Salary Range: 3,245-7,598

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

Application Timeline 

A review of applications will begin on May 7, 2026; however, the position will remain open until filled. All positions are subject to enrollment/registration as a CSUSM student and funding.
