Description

The STEM Success Center is seeking kind, hardworking and motivated Chemistry tutors to join our team! Our mission is to empower students to become independent and confident problem solvers in lower division chemistry courses. If you often find yourself assisting your peers, regularly seeking academic support, or simply thrive on intellectual challenges, this opportunity might be an excellent fit for you.

We are actively looking for tutors for the following subjects:

  • CHEM 150, 160, 201, & 202

Qualifications
Students of any major are eligible to work in the STEM SC. Minimum qualifications for a tutor position include:

  • Enrollment in at least 1 unit at Cal State San Marcos
  • Completion of courses to be tutored with a ‘B’ or better
  • Good academic standing at Cal State San Marcos (minimum 2.0 GPA)
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 6 hours per week
  • Endorsement by two faculty or staff members

Pay Rate/Salary
The hourly rate for Tutors begins at $17.86 an hour. 
Student positions may not exceed 20 hours/week during the semester.
