
Job Summary:
Under the immediate supervision of the Executive Director of Student Engagement and Completion, and under the lead work direction of the Program Support Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for being an enthusiastic full-time student to serve as Cody the Coyote Mascot at campus and community events. This is a fun opportunity to showcase school spirit and engage with the CSUSB community. As Cody, you’ll perform at campus and community events, interact with students and guests, and maintain a high-energy, professional character. Applicants should be full-time students in good standing, comfortable performing in front of crowds, and physically able to wear the mascot costume for extended periods. This part-time, on-call position requires 5–10 hours per month, including evenings and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
- Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.
Required Qualifications
- Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
- Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
- International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card
Preferred Qualifications
- Height Requirement: Must be between 5’8” and 6’2”.
Performance and Representation:
- Dress in costume and represent CSUSB at various campus and community events.
- Perform mascot duties in accordance with CSUSB standards and guidelines.
- Organizational Skills: Must demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage scheduling and performance responsibilities effectively.
Flexibility:
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekends.
Personality and Communication:
- Must possess a highly personable and animated demeanor with strong interpersonal communication skills and creativity.
- Engage positively with students, staff, and campus guests of all ages, ensuring a welcoming and respectful environment.
Professionalism:
- Exhibit courteous, friendly, reliable, and punctual behavior at all times.
Maintain a professional and respectful attitude when interacting with the public.
Performance Skills:
- Demonstrate the ability to embody and express the mascot’s personality through appropriate gestures and movements while in costume.
Compensation and Benefits:
Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.50 per hour.
The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.

This is an 'On-Campus Only' position. Student Employees are not eligible to telecommute at any time.

Background Check
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) may be required for student employment purposes.
