Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice East Bay
The Department of Criminal Justice seeks an assistant professor to teach undergraduate courses in some of the following areas: criminal justice ethics, theories of crime, research methods in criminal justice, criminal law and the courts, victimology, restorative justice, and criminal law. While our department seeks a generalist who can teach a broad range of lower- and upper-division criminal justice courses, candidates with expertise in criminal law, courts, and victimology will be prioritized.
Assistant Professor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) East Bay
The Department of Engineering seeks an Assistant Professor of Engineering with the ability to teach courses in Civil Engineering, as well as in the Common Engineering Core, and Construction Management. The successful candidate will be able to teach in some core areas of the Civil Engineering curriculum, such as engineering mechanics, structures, environmental and sustainability, water resources, or construction engineering and management. We do not expect expertise in all areas; rather, we are looking for a colleague with the flexibility and interest to teach across multiple parts of the curriculum as needed in an expanding program.
Assistant Professor of Social Work (Generalist Practice) East Bay
The Department of Social Work at California State University, East Bay seeks an assistant professor to teach and provide curricular leadership in the MSW generalist and advanced generalist practice sequence, with particular attention to culturally responsive, community-engaged, and justice-oriented social work practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. Depending on departmental needs, the candidate may also teach across the MSW and BSW curricula, including practice, policy, human behavior in the social environment, research, capstone, practicum seminar, and/or other courses aligned with the candidate's expertise. Faculty engage in teaching, advising, and research, as well as service at the departmental, college, university, and community levels. As an applied discipline, we emphasize community engagement in our teaching, as well as in other aspects of our work. Faculty must be prepared to teach in-person, hybrid, and/or fully online courses.
Assistant Professor of Public Affairs and Adminstration (2 positions) East Bay
The Department of Public Affairs and Administration seeks two candidates to teach graduate courses and advise students—preferably in both the MPA and MS-HCA degree programs—keep active research portfolios, assist the department with administrative and/or committee work, and assume campus-wide committee responsibilities.
Housing Coordinator (Temporary) East Bay
Project Rebound is a CSU-wide student support program serving formerly incarcerated students across 20 of 22 CSU campuses. Modeled after the original program founded at San Francisco State in 1967, Cal State East Bay’s Project Rebound (established in 2022) provides a supportive, accessible environment where justice-impacted students can apply, persist, and succeed in their academic, career, and leadership goals. Project Rebound Scholars contribute meaningfully to the campus community and engage in peer support, civic participation, and community leadership to strengthen families and communities. The Housing Coordinator for Project Rebound, working closely with the appropriate administrator, is responsible for the strategic oversight, development, and management of housing support services for Project Rebound scholars. These scholars include students living in campus housing, those receiving off-campus rental subsidies, and students residing in university-supported private residences or apartment complexes. The Housing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that students have access to safe, stable, and supportive housing environments that promote academic success and persistence, personal well-being, and successful community reintegration. The Housing Coordinator, working closely with appropriate administrator(s), leads the design and implementation of housing programs, manages complex student needs with professionalism and cultural competence, and builds strong partnerships with campus housing departments, property managers, landlords, and community-based housing providers. Working independently, the Housing Coordinator administers housing resources across multiple funding streams, ensures compliance with grant requirements, and evaluates program effectiveness.
