The Department of Teacher Education seeks one or more temporary, part-time Fieldwork Supervisors for a pool from which applicants will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2024 and/or Spring Semester 2025.
Grant Program Assistant (Temporary) East Bay
The Supported Decision Making grant is an 18-month grant that is focused on creating training modules for professionals in what supported decision making is. In addition, the grant will fund a statewide conference focused on this topic. The Grant Program Assistant works closely with and under the guidance of the Project Lead Researcher/Co-Investigator and will work directly with the project team.  This position will interface with university faculty and staff, funders, and students and will be responsible for coordinating meetings, creating publicity for the grant's efforts, creating and maintaining grant materials in online platforms (i.e., google, CANVAS), assist with the creation of online modules, assist and promote a statewide conference. Please Note: This is a part-time, (60% time base), grant-funded, temporary position through June 30, 2025 with the possibility of reappointment.
Custodian (Temporary) East Bay
Work assignments typically include cleaning and maintaining assigned areas which includes activities such as: cleaning and dusting all surfaces, removing trash and recyclables, cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and replenishing supplies; cleaning glass doors and windows, and blinds; cleaning stairwells, walkways and elevators, and performing general housekeeping; clean and maintain floors including sweeping, dry and/or wet mopping; stripping, sealing, waxing, and polishing floors, vacuuming, spot and full cleaning of carpets. Please Note: This is a full-time, temporary position through June 30, 2025 with the possibility of reappointment.
Assistant Professor of Writing Languages and Literatures (Composition and Rhetoric) East Bay
The Department of Writing, Languages, and Literature seeks a full-time tenure-track position to serve as administrator, teacher, and scholar who is interested in first year composition curriculum and pedagogy. This role involves teaching undergraduate composition courses, coordinating the composition program, and developing innovative and culturally relevant curriculum. The faculty member should sustain an active research agenda and provide support to university initiatives such as increasing first-year retention rates and eliminating equity gaps for historically underserved students in first-year composition. The successful candidate’s teaching, research, and administrative experience engage with race and ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and ability status and who are prepared to develop and teach writing courses that address interdisciplinary themes of racial/ethnic equity and inclusion, social justice, and environmental sustainability. This faculty position requires demonstrated evidence of training, experience, or research in multimodal literacy and/or AI applications in composition, and working with first year composition faculty in professional development and support.
Associate Vice President, Financial Services East Bay
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Financial Services reports to the Vice President, Administration and Finance/Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Incumbent provides effective management and oversight of financial services which includes the following functions: accounting, student financials, procurement, accounts payable, and the University Bay card program. The AVP provides leadership to a diverse financial support staff focused on delivering user-friendly services in an environment that is highly regulated and compliant driven and requires collaboration and transparency. Incumbent is responsible for advising and making recommendations to the Vice President/CFO relative to overall University objectives, policies, and plans whenever financial services is involved. As part of the Administration and Finance leadership team, the AVP collaborates with his/her peers to create innovative solutions to intra-and inter-division issues while focusing on the university’s strategic commitments and major goal of enhancing student success. The position is required to have direct contact with and responds to requests from the President, vice presidents, deans, department heads, other senior campus officials, the Chancellor’s Office and the State of California Controller’s Office.

Sergeant East Bay
The University Police Department is a California Police Department responsible for the prevention of crime and the enforcement of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations on the Cal State East. Bay campus. Under the general supervision of the Chief of Police, the sergeant is responsible for: coordinating resource systems in support of the Department’s administrative and operational functions, providing research assistance to Department managers in the development of the organization, providing leadership and supervision to assigned employees.
Painter East Bay
This position performs the work of a journey level painter. Expectations require knowledge and methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the painting trade including: painting, finishing, drywall, surface preparation, road and parking striping, mold mitigation and a thorough knowledge of applicable state codes and regulations including safety orders, completion of work assignments and completion of daily time cards.
Groundsworker East Bay
The main function of the Groundsworker position is to maintain the campus grounds in a way that provides a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for the staff, faculty, students and the community.  Under general supervision, this position performs work involving some or all of the following: planting, cultivating, fertilizing, spraying and watering ornamental plants, shrubs, hedges, trees, lawns and flowers. The Groundsworker is also responsible for raking, removing weeds, cleaning trash from assigned areas including parking lots; preparing and treating soils for planting, maintaining hoses, sprinklers, tools, supplies and equipment in proper condition and repair. Additionally, trimming of trees, hedges, shrubs, and install tree supports. This position may operate and perform minor repairs and maintenance on power equipment such as lawn mowers, edger’s, and weed eaters and assist in preparing athletic fields for events.  The Groundsworker  may occasionally assist a in sprinkler repair, spraying, tree trimming, or nursery functions, operate trucks and other equipment in performance of assigned duties. In addition, this position may construct flower beds, maintain drainage systems, remove brush and trees, collects trash, and helps to install concrete and asphalt.
Laborer (Temporary) East Bay
This position will be working at the California State University East Bay campus located in Hayward, California. This position is in the Logistics Department of Facilities Development and Operations. Primary duties include moving heavy objects such as furniture, equipment, materials, and supplies; cleaning applicable equipment; and assisting in other cleaning and or grounds work assignments. Additionally, this position will remove and haul waste and recyclables from designated areas, provide setup for campus events and perform special clean-up activities as needed and use a motor vehicle to transport and deliver heavy equipment or other items.
Equipment Technician I - 10/12 Pay Plan (Temporary) East Bay
The Equipment Technician is assigned to oversee and be responsible for the Music Equipment office. This position is responsible for the repair, maintenance, issuance, movement, set-up, storage, and inventory control of musical instruments, equipment, and accessories for the Department of Music as well as other University departments, University offices, and private parties using property assigned to the Music Department. Please note, this is a full-time, temporary position through July 31, 2025, with the possibility of reappointment. Additionally, this is a 10/12 pay plan position - the incumbent will work 10 months out of the year (August - May) with the salary spread over 12 months.
Project IMPACT (Trio Grant) - Academic Success & Wellness Counselor (Temporary) East Bay
The primary purpose of this position is to provide academic advising and academic wellness counseling to participating students. The Project Impact - Academic Success & Wellness Counselor supports students in completing their post-secondary education by providing targeted advice related to class selection, the development of educational plans and monitors the academic progress of students in the program. Furthermore, the Academic Success and Wellness Counselor provides academic wellness counseling to support students in the development of non-cognitive skills including academic & realistic self-appraisal, growth mindset, locus of control, positive self-concept, motivation and long term goal setting. This position will function as a team member of Project IMPACT and will assist the Project IMPACT Program Coordinator with carrying out the requirements of the grant. This is a temporary, full-time, grant funded position through August 31, 2025, with the possibility of re-appointment for a maximum of three years from the date of hire.

Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership East Bay
The Department of Educational Leadership seeks a full-time tenure-track position to serve as an assistant professor to teach courses in the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership for Social Justice and Preliminary Administrative Services Credential programs. The faculty member in this position will teach and develop courses in the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership for Social Justice and Preliminary Administrative Services Credential programs. Candidates should have a solid grounding in applying critical pedagogies, such as culturally sustaining, humanizing, abolitionist, decolonial, or critical race pedagogies into their teaching praxis. Teaching experience for a successful candidate includes assessment design, lesson design, and course design. We seek candidates whose pedagogy and scholarship reflects extensive expertise/experience collaboratively leading PK-16 institutional transformation and working with diverse student populations, historically minoritized and/or marginalized communities, and educational institutions serving those students/communities.
Director of Annual Giving & Alumni Engagement East Bay
Reporting to the Vice President of University Advancement, the Director of Annual Giving & Alumni Engagement develops and implements programs and services that engage, improve communication and create a basis for a culture of philanthropy. This role is charged with increasing annual giving and strengthening alumni ties to the University. By improving existing programs, the Director will grow the annual fund, apply best practices and further engage the alumni community, faculty, staff, students and University leadership in advancing the mission of the University. The Director is further charged with growing, soliciting, and stewarding segments of the broader donor pool. This position is for an energetic, creative professional eager to bring the fundraising program to a higher level. The Director also works closely with the Advancement communications staff, providing the Director of Advancement with support in the creation and implementation of alumni communications, including digital and social media. Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Mechanic East Bay
The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic is distinguished from other classifications in the series by responsibility for the full range of service, maintenance and repair on more complex refrigeration and associated HVAC systems and equipment. The work of an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic requires a comprehensive knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. The Department of Computer Science offers a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S. in Computer Science. Currently, there are more than 750 undergraduate majors and over 200 students in the M.S. program. Teaching courses at B.S. and M.S. levels, curriculum development at both levels, and sustaining a research program. Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay include courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online. In addition to teaching, all faculty have advising responsibilities, assist the department with administrative and/or committee work, and are expected to assume campus-wide committee responsibilities.
