The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences seeks part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for teaching appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2025, and Spring Semester, 2026. The Department offers a Bachelor of Science degree and an accredited Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and/or Audiology. Assignments might include teaching one or more basic and advanced course(s) for undergraduate and graduate students. There are approximately 200 majors and five regular faculty. |
Assistive Technology Coordinator

Under the direction of the Accessibility Services Director, the Assistive Technology Coordinator oversees Assistive Technology services for students receiving support through Accessibility Services. This includes, but is not limited to: conducting assessments for students with disabilities and their need for assistive technology, determining best options for students from low-tech solutions to high-tech solutions, and training students on the use of such assistive technology. This position may provide assessments and training for staff and faculty with disabilities in conjunction with the department of Human Resources. |
Lab Research Technician (Temporary)

The Lab Research Technician ensures the continuous production, collection, processing, and archiving of environmental data collected at a meso-network of biometeorological field sites across California for the Cal State East Bay campus. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and calibration of on-going field measurements of carbon, water and energy exchange between vegetation canopies and the atmosphere and the environmental sensors that measure the condition of the air, soil and water. The Lab Research Technician trains and provides lead work direction to undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and visitors on laboratory and field techniques, as needed. This position writes analysis reports on sensor performance tests and calibrations, data quality and gap filling, and processes raw meteorological data to compute eddy covariance fluxes of mass and energy exchange. The Lab Research Technician also assists with the development and testing of new sensors and methods. |

Associate Counselor (Pool)

Associate Counselors, under the supervision of the Director of Counseling and their clinical supervisor, provide intake assessments, crisis intervention, and short-term individual and couples counseling to students of the University. They work collaboratively with counseling and medical staff to help students maintain optimum mental and physical health. The Associate Counselor may also provide group counseling and outreach presentations to the campus community in partnership with licensed clinical staff. Case Management Coordinator

Reporting to the Director of Counseling Services, the Case Management Coordinator serves as a primary resource for students of concern on campus. The position provides case management services to students with complex mental and physical health problems, academic and social challenges, difficulty navigating campus systems, and safety concerns who are reported to the Student Care Team. Case management services include but are not limited to providing assessment, intervention, advocacy, resources and referrals, and follow-up services. The position coordinates student services and provides referrals to the appropriate resources on campus such as Student Health and Counseling Services, Accessibility Services, Student Conduct, Rights and Responsibilities, Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid, and off-campus community agencies. The Case Management Coordinator works with Student Wellbeing to respond to emergency assistance requests and disburse emergency funding. Under the general direction of the Cradle to Career Program and Evaluation Director and Executive Director of Hayward Promise Neighborhoods (HPN), the College & Career Programs Lead will support a team of 4 staff supporting K-12 and postsecondary programs including Student Success Navigation (High School and Postsecondary), Pioneers with Promise (High School), and Internships (Postsecondary). This position is responsible for aligning strategies that support college and career readiness, persistence, and completion for students at Cal State East Bay, Hayward Unified School District, Eden Area ROP, and Chabot College. The lead will collaborate with university leadership, faculty, and external partners to ensure a coordinated approach to student success and workforce development within the cradle-to-career framework.
The lead will have experience developing and implementing evidence-based programs that provide academic and career support services to students, including mentoring, career exploration, internship coordination, and college persistence coaching. The position requires strong collaboration with K-12 districts, community colleges, industry partners, and community-based organizations to establish pipelines for student success. Additionally, this role includes data analysis, program evaluation, and strategic planning to ensure programs meet institutional and grant-funded objectives. |
