Major Duties

Under general supervision, the Immersive Engagement Program Specialist will design and deliver cutting-edge STEAM programs that inspire curiosity, spark creativity, and expand opportunities for students, families, and communities. You’ll blend immersive technologies with meaningful learning experiences—both in-person and virtual—while working with passionate partners who share a vision for inclusive innovation. From concept to impact storytelling, you’ll have the opportunity to shape programs that make a measurable difference.

  • Independently planning, developing, and administering a diverse portfolio of immersive STEAM programming.
  • Designing and implementing immersive programming within physical spaces such as the Next Gen Student Success Center.
  • Developing evaluation tools and analytical frameworks to assess the effectiveness of immersive STEAM experiences.
  • Leading the design and curation of immersive storytelling experiences and digital content.
  • Contributing to strategic planning efforts, inclusive innovation-focused institutional initiatives, and cross-functional collaborations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field. Master’s degree in a related field is preferred
  • Equivalent to three (3) years of full-time, progressively responsible technical, analytical, or administrative experience.
  • Additional experience in a job-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required education, on a year-for-year basis.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Comprehensive understanding of immersive technologies, equity-centered STEAM education strategies, and research-based instructional approaches such as challenge-based and active learning. Ability to translate these principles into engaging lesson plans, learning modules, and outreach programming that support whole-family engagement and broaden pathways to student success.
  • Proven ability to independently plan, develop, and administer complex educational initiatives, including scheduling, vendor coordination, and oversight of student assistants. Skilled at fostering partnerships with institutional, educational, and community stakeholders to align programming with strategic goals, ensure innovation, and expand impact across diverse audiences and regions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of virtual platforms, AR/VR tools, and other immersive technologies, with the ability to align these tools seamlessly with physical learning spaces. Skilled in developing in-person and hybrid programming that connects digital experiences to hands-on STEAM environments for diverse audiences.
  • Proven skill in establishing procedures, training student assistants and staff, and setting clear expectations for immersive technology use. Adept at ensuring consistency, scalability, and innovation in program delivery across multiple modalities, geographic regions, and stakeholder groups.

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
  • Classification: Administrative Analyst/Specialist / 1038 / 2
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $4598 - $6275 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $4598 - $8318 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.  
  • This is a Temporary position; end date to be determined.
  • The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
