Position Summary: UDRI is looking for a senior level Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) engineer to join the PNT group. This position will be responsible for working, as part of a diverse and skilled technical team, to write software to interface with hardware for our customers conducting alternative navigation research. The ideal candidate will have experience writing software drivers for various types of navigation equipment in multiple software languages and be comfortable with handling priority shifts and deadlines effectively. This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers heath, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.
Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or other relevant technical field
2. 8+ years of directly related experience is required
3. Successful experience developing software using C++, Python, and Java to interface with navigation equipment
4. Effective written and verbal communication skills
5. Ability to manage deadlines effectively
6. Eligibility to obtain a United States SECRET clearance (or higher) is required for ongoing employment in this position
7. Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Master's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant technical field
2. Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills
3. Ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace
4. Active SECRET clearance
5. Comfortable with travel to remote test events 10-15% of the year
6. Professional experience or familiarity with:
6.1: Interfacing with navigation aiding sensors
6.2: Installing, configuring, and working with software in Linux environments
6.3: Source code version control systems such as Git, or similar
6.4: Database software development
6.5: Containerizing code into Docker images and deploying Docker containers
6.6: Experience developing software to communicate and exchange information (e.g. commands, status, data) with hardware devices, sensors, and/or systems
6.7: Experience synchronizing systems with external time sources
6.8: Remote flight testing experience
