Position Summary: |
We seek a full-time Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor to serve as the program coordinator for our partnership with the Sara Schenirer Institute.
The partnership with the Sarah Schenirer Institute trains Orthodox Jewish women to become doctorally qualified OT scholar-practitioners, who are caring, competent, and uncompromising on their values. We teach students to develop and deliver evidence-driven services, through the integration of theory, research, and practice. In state-of-the-art laboratories, alongside faculty, students apply didactic content and build skills to promote health, well-being, and resilience through occupational engagement. |
Position Responsibilities: |
- This is a 12-month, on-campus position with responsibilities that include: liaising with our partners at the Sara Schenirer Institute; supporting student recruitment; student advisement and mentorship; clinical placements; course and program outcomes assessment; student success and retention; committee service as well as scholarly activities, course development, and teaching.

Experience & Education Background: |
- PhD or Occupational Therapy Doctorate from an accredited university.
- Experience and cultural competence in working with the Orthodox Jewish community, a plus.
- Experience working with students who are balancing full-time graduate study with full-time family commitments preferred.
- Teaching experience at the graduate level (2+ years); experience with online learning management systems preferred.
- Experience in clinical practice (4+ years), with experience in supervising fieldwork students preferred. Expertise in the areas of child/adolescent practice, older adult/adult practice, mental health, or research is preferred, with documented experience or certification(s) in area(s) of specialization (neurorehabilitation, or mental health, or orthopedic/hand rehabilitation, or pediatrics).
- OT licensure in NYS and current NBCOT certification required.
- American Occupational Therapy Association membership required.
- Use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

- Ability to use creative facilitation and conflict resolution skills to resolve difficult and sensitive issues
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other MS office products as needed
