Position Summary:       

The Mordecai and Monique Katz Associate Degree Programs are seeking adjunct instructors to teach college courses. Courses will be given in person at the Beren Campus and/or the Wilf Campus.

Adjunct instructors in Social Sciences and History teach the following courses at either the Beren Campus in Midtown Manhattan or the Wilf Campus in Washington Heights: 

Introduction to Sociology
Introduction to American Politics
Introduction to Psychology
Developmental Psychology
History of Social Movements
Media Revolutions

Position Responsibilities:

  • Teach in person up to 2 courses per semester
  • Office hours, minimal 2 hours weekly
  • Locations: Wilf Campus (185th St & Amsterdam Avenue) and/or Beren Campus (33rd St & Lexington Avenue)
  • Attend 2 in-person professional development sessions per semester (one prior to the semester, one during the semester)
  • Submit mid-semester progress reports on each student
  • Complete course Assessment reports
  • Utilize university instructional systems and record systems, including Canvas, Starfish (Yeshiva Success Network), and Banner

Experience & Educational Background:

  • Master’s degree in related field required; PhD preferred
  • For business subjects, experience applying knowledge in real-world business environment required
  • Experience in teaching required

The Mordecai and Monique Katz Associate Degree Programs offer students the best of Yeshiva University: a rigorous Jewish and secular education combined with our vibrant on-campus experience. Both the AS in Management and AA in Liberal Arts are full-time, residential programs completed in 5 semesters over 2 years (including 1 required summer semester). Through a carefully planned curriculum and nationally-recognized student success initiatives, students gain the skills and knowledge needed to thrive.

Upon graduation, students have a choice of pathways: if they wish to continue their education and have achieved a 3.0 cumulative GPA, they can seamlessly transition to Yeshiva University's bachelor’s degree programs at Stern College for Women, Sy Syms School of Business, or Yeshiva College. If they wish to pursue professional opportunities, they will be well equipped to join the professional world.
