Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research, while assuming an important role in advancing Yeshiva University’s Jewish Education program. Azrieli is particularly interested in candidates who will advance the field of Jewish education by working closely with Jewish schools, teachers, and administrators. Experience working in Jewish day schools (Orthodox Jewish day schools, in particular) is not required but will be considered an advantage.
Other position responsibilities include teaching a full complement of courses in the Doctoral and Master’s programs, supervising and advising students, and service to the department and university.

Experience & Educational Background:
|
Candidates must have earned a doctorate in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Jewish Studies, Jewish Education, Jewish Leadership, or a related area by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter.

Skills & Competencies:
|
The optimal candidate will have a record of excellence in research and teaching and a deep familiarity with, and experience in, Jewish educational institutions. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research and teaching interests complement our existing institutional strengths.
Candidates should:
- Demonstrate the ability to publish in academic journals appropriate to their field
- Provide evidence of presentations at important conferences
- Submit strong endorsements from referees
- Exhibit mentoring skills in educational and research contexts
- Display a commitment to teaching excellence, and be familiar with asynchronous online education
