Position Summary:       

The Lead Maintenance Worker performs and oversees a variety of maintenance-related tasks.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure work is accomplished in a professional manner and conforms with work order requirements, specifications, and building codes
  • Compute material requirements for specific jobs
  • Maintain adequate shop stock levels and requisition tools, equipment, materials, and supplies for accomplishing shop assignments
  • Assign duties to staff and provide routine guidance
  • Perform the duties of a maintenance worker
  • Perform duties as a member of the Fire Brigade
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Experience & Educational Background:

  • A High School Diploma
  • 5 years of recent experience in a variety of building trades is required
  • Construction industry experience is preferred
  • A valid state driver’s license is required

Skills & Competencies:

  • Must possess the strength and dexterity needed to perform the job and the physical ability to move equipment as necessary
  • Must adhere to operational safety rules and regulations as deemed by the University
  • Must be able to follow directives and possess good communication skills, and the ability to interact with building/office occupants effectively
  • Must be able to effectively provide direction to lower-level staff
  • Respirator Fit Testing may be required

Salary Range:

Salary Range: Grade 9 

1199 New Hire rate:$31.07 and 1199 One Year of Service rate $31.70
