Work Schedule:

Full-time - First Shift  6:00am - 2:20 pm

Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 9  with a minimum of $33,938 and a mid-point of $39,100. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of routine difficulty by coordinating the work of the custodians. Work is distinguished by the ability to assist with cleaning projects. Direct supervision is received by the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of three years directly applicable custodial experience  or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Working knowledge of the proper use of custodial equipment and chemical products.
  3. Working skills in organizing work to meet established deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  4. Working skill in interpersonal interaction to be applied to a variety of individuals with differing education, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
  5. Working skills in verbal and written communication.
  6. Working skill in operating a personal computer, applicable software and peripheral equipment as well as learning and adapting to new and updated programs and technology.
  7. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when required by the department’s needs.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

Essential Duties:

  1. Assist management in the coordination of various custodial job requests. Coordinate job assignments and areas to custodial staff.
  2. Assist management with the training of custodians.
  3. Assist in the set-up and tear-down of facility events.
  4. Perform and maintain custodial tasks in various areas of the college buildings, as requested by custodial managers and Operations & Maintenance department staff.
  5. Lock, unlock and provide security of buildings and classrooms per college’s schedule of events.
  6. Check and report progress of custodial tasks to management.
  7. Inform management of supply inventory shortages.
  8. Maintains required training, licensure and/or certifications
  9. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to applicable privacy laws
  10. Demonstrates sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace.
  11. Maintains an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the division is short-staffed or experiencing an increased volume of work.
  12. Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality

  2. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
