Department Overview:

We are a family of 6 - Mom, Dad, and four kids: 10yo girl, 7yo boy, and 4yo boy/girl twins.

Location: Our house is within walking / short bus distance from campus on the west side near the hospital (15 min walk from Camp Randall, 30 min walk from the Nic Rec Center)

We live very close to campus. You will not need a car.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are looking to add a few great babysitters to our rotation for the spring and summer. We have four kids: a 10yo girl, 7yo boy, and 4yo boy girl twins. Bedtimes are 7:30 for littles, 8:30 for bigs. 
 

Times: Days and times are TBD, but typical babysitting times might be 5:00 - 9:00 pm on a Friday or Saturday, sometimes a week day. 

Duties: Snacktime or dinner time, doing fun and creative projects and activities, and some light housekeeping (dishes into dishwasher, tidying up after projects, etc.). Bonus: a babysitter with a car that could take kids out.

 

Qualifications:

  • Creativity in finding and doing a range of age-appropriate activities with kids, getting them out for walks and outdoor fun, even in the winter
  • Prior childcare/nannying experience, experience with multiple kids at one time
  • Transportation to/from home - Our location is within walking distance from campus, on many bus lines (1, 2, 10, 19, 37, 48), and has ample parking.
  • Great communication skills (to us and the kids!) & demonstrated responsibility / reliability
  • Ability to help run a calm household - Keeping kids engaged, excited, and getting energy out, and also some light cleaning (picking up toys and crafts, making sure hats and coats find their homes, dealing with dishes, and including kids in these activities as much as possible)
  • A genuine love of kids
  • Bonus: Experience with early childhood education and art, music, or language education
