Department Overview:

The Division of the Arts unifies and catalyzes the arts at UW–Madison. We support and promote the missions of the academic arts departments and affiliated partners, foster interdisciplinary collaborations, deepen the student experience, build community engagement, and advocate for inclusion, diversity, equity, and access across the arts.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled as a full-time student at UW–Madison
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Availability for some evenings and weekends
Art Lover & Enthusiast is a MUST
Collaborative
Flexible schedule
Experience working events is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in research methods and data analysis.
Familiarity with Airtable, Monday, or Asana Project Management system is a plus.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Conduct research on target audiences, local arts communities, and relevant trends to inform outreach strategies.
Table for SOAR and similar outreach/recruitment events as needed
Analyze data to identify potential collaboration opportunities, popular events, and effective outreach channels.
Create and deploy student surveys to gather feedback about their preferences and interests in arts programs.
Analyze survey results to extract insights that can guide the development of targeted outreach initiatives.
Assist in organizing and maintaining databases of student artists, low-cost venues for all students, registered student organization CRM, and community partnership types.
Handle scheduling meetings with student orgs/interested student partners, and general administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations.
Create segmented outreach lists based on interest
Help with on-site tasks during events, such as managing registration, organizing and distributing materials, and engaging with attendees.
Attend campus & community events to represent the organization, network with stakeholders, and build relationships.
Actively participate in outreach programs to connect with the community and understand their needs.
Input and organize information in project management systems to streamline communication and task tracking.
Occasionally edit and send email copy to stakeholders upon O&E Coordinator’s request
Contribute creative ideas for new student outreach initiatives, collaborations, and engagement strategies.
Document DotA sponsor and affiliate events for O&E reporting
Research Grad Student Community
Occasionally attend conferences/professional development events on behalf of the Division.

A successful candidate will play a crucial role in various tasks, including research, database management, event & program support, networking and communication outreach.
