Department Overview:

The Cellular and Molecular Arrhythmia Research Program (CMARP) at the University of Wisconsin is a multi-investigator laboratory involved in a wide range of research projects exploring the molecular function of ion channels in cardiac physiology, pharmacology and disease.

Schedule:

The successful candidate will be expected to work approximately 10 hours a week with a pre-determined agreed upon schedule. The laboratory assistant will be expected to work during normal business hours until a period of training is completed, at which time some schedule flexibility will be allowed if evening or weekend hours are desired.

Qualifications:

Undergraduate student currently enrolled at UW-Madison in good academic standing

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The qualified applicant will be responsible, reliable, and able to work independently after completion of training. Good communication, organization, and record-keeping skills are essential.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

-Stocking and distributing laboratory supplies
-Making buffers
-Washing and sterilizing glassware
-Performing daily and weekly maintenance tasks to ensure the lab runs efficiently and effectively

Physical Demands:

Ability to engage in light to medium work that involves occasionally lifting/carrying objects 10 lbs or less and pushing/pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
