Department Overview:

At Code Ninjas, kids ages 7-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way – by creating video games they love. Children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving, as they progress from white to black belt.

Schedule:

4pm - 7pm weekdays, and 10am - 1pm on Saturdays. 1 to 3 shifts per week.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
• Enjoy working with children 7 and up
• Knowledgeable about coding and technology and able to quickly pick up concepts
• Experience in teaching, mentoring, coaching, tutoring, childcare, etc.
• Interact well with others; be a fun mentor that kids enjoy being around
• Enjoy STEM educational activities
• Experience with MakeCode, JavaScript, and Tinkercad a plus
• Presentation and classroom management skills to deliver camp curriculum

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledgeable about coding and technology and able to quickly pick up concepts
Experience in teaching, mentoring, coaching, tutoring, childcare, etc.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Responsibilities include:
• Learn the Code Ninjas curriculum
• Provide coaching when kids get stuck; help them find bugs in their code
• Keep kids engaged and on task; grade their work
• Conduct 1-on-1 introductory sessions with students and provide feedback to parents
• Report daily to Center Manager regarding activities and student’s progress
