Qualifications:
|
Required Qualifications: - College of Engineering undergraduate student - Self-starting & independent worker - Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines - Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills - Proficient with common Microsoft Office Suite skills
Preferred Qualifications: - At least 2 semesters remaining in their undergraduate studies (graduating on or after December 2026) - Previous direct customer service experience - Experience working in Canva graphic design platform - Availability to work on Tuesdays from 10:00 am - 2:30 pm, Thursdays from 12:30 - 3:30 pm, and Fridays from 12:00 - 2:30 pm - Strong understanding of social media platforms and their functionalities - Creative and innovative thinking - Familiarity with social media analytics and management tools - Knowledge of social media marketing best practices - Comfortability with filming and editing videos and photos |

- Provide friendly, empathetic and responsive service to internal and external customers that interact with the office - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Good organizational skills - Ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests or customers coming in at the same time - Reliable and punctual - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Position Summary/Job Duties:
|
- Manage Instagram and Facebook pages - Engage with community through timely responses to messages and inquiries while fostering a positive online community - Create engaging posts and stories - Plan and execute social media campaigns - Develop and implement social media request system to implement within the office - Develop and implement yearly social media calendar of standard posts to occur each year - Manage social media trends and integrate relevant topics into our social media platforms - Track content engagement and adapt where appropriate - Develop and implement new strategies for increasing social media engagement - Direct and collaborate on photo and video shoots - Design flyers, posters, and other print materials for the office in Canva - Staffing reception desk (including high-volume drop-in advising periods) - Answering phone calls and providing triage for students coming to the office - Providing excellent customer service to all constituencies that visit the unit (ex. students, parents and guardians, staff and faculty, employer representatives) - Data entry projects and maintenance of office documents - Serve as a positive Engineering Student Center representative and student role model throughout the College of Engineering and UW-Madison campus
