Media Processing Assistant summary: The UW-Madison Archives is seeking highly-motivated, detail-oriented student(s) to work cooperatively with staff to process our media materials. This position offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience working with archival image and audiovisual collections and general archival processing experience including working in ArchivesSpace. The person will work onsite with materials at the Archives, located in Steenbock Memorial Library.
Personal Training Mentee Recreation & Wellbeing Fitness $15.00 UW Student Jobs
Personal Training Mentee summary: The Mentorship Program coincides with the ACE Course and is designed to prepare participants for employment at Rec Well as a Personal Trainer. The time commitment for this program is approximately 32 hours total over 10 weeks (average of 3 hours/week). Mentees are Rec Well employees and are paid for their time during this program at a rate of $15/hour.  The program includes being assigned a personal training mentor, attending two orientations and four workshops (biomechanics, assessment, programming, group training), a meeting with your mentor, shadowing three personal training sessions, performing three mock sessions (assessment, programing, and session), and attending five group fitness classes as a participant. Enrollment in the ACE course or working toward a NCCA accredited personal training certification is required for the Mentorship Program.

The student will work under the supervision of research scientists and postdoctoral researchers, contributing to projects that use geospatial tools to study vegetation and ecosystems. While the lab conducts research at regional, national, and global scales, the student’s work will primarily support local projects.
