Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance for the Institute for Social and Economic Research and Policy (ISERP), the Business Officer will work closely with the administrative unit of the Institute to maintain, implement, and optimize standard business processes in accordance with University policies. The incumbent serves as the primary expense approver for the Institute's centers, projects, seed grants, workshops, research, personnel, operational, and gift accounts. Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Director of Operations is responsible for the integrity of all physical spaces occupied by the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP). The Associate Director manages the day-to-day operations of GSAPP’s facilities including but not limited to planning, organizing and directing the maintenance, repair and alteration of GSAPP buildings and grounds; maintaining visual displays and appearance of GSAPP common / public spaces; serving as GSAPP’s representative on University Morningside Space Coordinating Committee; ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and within regulatory guidelines and projected deadlines; preparing and managing maintenance and construction project budgets; ensuring optimal utilization of GSAPP spaces and related resources as well as setting policy for building usage; and serves as the contact person for approximately 750 students and 300 full and part-time faculties on space related issues.
