Salary range $135,459 – $157,027 plus super

About the role: 

To put it simply…you’ll use your technical experience to deliver refurbishment projects that secure Tasmania’s renewable energy future. You’ll lead projects from design through to delivery, ensuring replacements and upgrades of assets that have been powering the state for over a century. This position is a 12-month max term opportunity.

As a Project Manager in the Major Works team, you will be:

✓ Managing projects to achieve agreed scope, cost, schedule and technical quality outcomes
✓ Preparing and presenting high quality business cases and commercial analysis
✓ Overseeing contract development, negotiation, execution and administration
✓ Applying best practice risk, safety and asset management processes to every stage
✓ Building strong stakeholder relationships across councils, regulators and the community
✓ Mentoring and supporting capability growth within the Major Works team

Who are you? 

You’re an experienced project manager who thrives in complex technical environments and knows how to bring people together to deliver results. With qualifications in engineering, project management or a related field, you have proven experience managing the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and design through to contracting, delivery and handover. You’re confident in leading contracts and budgets, applying strong commercial acumen and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to standard. Skilled in project management tools such as MS Project, you communicate clearly with stakeholders, prepare concise business cases and reports, and build strong working relationships.
