About the role

This is a full‑time, maximum‑term traineeship and a great opportunity for school leavers or early‑career candidates to start a career in Human Resources. You’ll support Recruitment and Organisational Development at Hydro Tasmania while working towards a nationally recognised Business Administration qualification.

In this role, you’ll provide customer focused administrative support, manage recruitment and training inboxes, coordinate interviews and inductions, and maintain accurate documentation and reporting. You’ll report into the Talent, Employee Experience and Inclusion team and be supported by experienced team members across Recruitment and Organisational Development.

 

Salary starts at $48,786 plus super

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage recruitment and training inboxes.

• Schedule introductory chats and interviews with candidates and hiring leaders.

• Support training administration via the Learning Management System.

• Book inductions, record training and respond to general training enquiries.

• Maintain accurate, compliant and high‑quality documentation.

• Provide administrative support to team members during peak periods.

Skills & experience

• Completion of Year 12 (TCE) or equivalent.

•  Strong interest in Recruitment, Organisational Development or People & Capability.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Strong customer service mindset.

• Above all, you’re enthusiastic, eager to learn and proactive in how you approach your work.
