Who we’re looking for:

With a strong pipeline of projects secured and upcoming, BMD Constructions has an opportunity for a Human Resources Officer/Coordinator to join our team supporting our infrastructure projects across Melbourne and regional Victoria. This role will be responsible for providing HR support to the regions projects. Drawing on your excellent communication skills, you will build positive working relationships across all levels, with tasks including:

  • Provide support to BMD management staff regarding employee relations as required by the HR Business Partner - Southern Region or GM - HR & IR.
  • Other generalist HR tasks as may be assigned by the HR Business Partner - Southern Region or GM – HR & IR from time to time.
  • Facilitate the one month check in process with new recruits
  • Participate in any regional based retention initiatives as required
  • In conjunction with the Social Procurement & Inclusion Advisor, ensure that all relevant projects are on track to meet any contractual training targets and provide advice where necessary.

  • Critique and assess candidate suitability in line with BMD’s values, culture and technical expectations.
  • Provide support and advice to business unit line managers regarding Talent Acquisition and general HR enquiries.
  • Promote continuous engagement and collaboration with partner universities, jobactive providers and external recruitment agencies in alignment with the broader strategic direction for the region.
  • Coordinate BMD participation and attendance at any relevant careers or job fairs

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with:

  • Bachelor of Business (Human Resources major highly desirable)
  • Prior experience in civil/construction industry highly desired
  • Great attention to detail & highly organised
  • A strong commitment to exceptional client service and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced administrative role (highly desirable)
