At Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we are seeking a passionate Senior Advisor - Practice, Workforce & Voice (HIPPY) to join our dedicated team.

Location: Fitzroy

Job Type: 6 months Maximum Term Part-Time working 15 hours per week

About the role

This position is responsible to provide senior, independent leadership to strengthen HIPPY - Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY)-grounded Work in Motion review and leading the ChangeMakers program

The role will generate evidence based insights into how HIPPY support roles operate in practice, inform future workforce and delivery models, and build the confidence and capability of Tutors and Coordinators to share their voices, experiences and advocacy in ways that reflect HIPPY’s values, community led approach and commitment to strength based early years outcomes.

What we are looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion for supporting the mission of BSL and delivering excellence in your role.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s) in areas such as Organisational development, Social sciences, Public policy, Community development, Evaluation, design, or a related discipline
  • Senior-level experience leading workforce, role-design or time-in-motion reviews in complex service delivery or community-based organisations.
  • Strong senior-level qualitative inquiry and facilitation skills, including working directly with frontline practitioners and managers while exercising sound professional judgement, discretion and authority.
  • Strong professional judgement and confidence working across frontline practitioners, program leadership and executives, balancing analytical rigour with relational sensitivity.
  • Ability to facilitate complex, practice-facing work with credibility, discretion and authority, including building trust in high-change or high-pressure environments.
  • Strong cultural and community-centred practice, including respectful engagement in First Nations and place-based contexts and an understanding of self-determination and cultural authority.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills
